Learn more about the International School of Skin, Nailcare and Massage Therapy in Atlanta, GA, and the cosmetology program to begin your career journey today.
About Our Cosmetology Program
Unlike other beauty schools, we offer a salon-ready cosmetology program. The coursework enables students to pass state board examinations and gives them the advanced competencies to expand their career opportunities. Instead of just learning about color and using razors, students will understand color correction and razor cutting. This training model allows students to skip the assistant phase that a cosmetology education at most other schools entails.
The state-of-the-art curriculum includes 1500 hours of instruction outlined by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbers, plus 500 hours of advanced learning in color correction, razor cutting, and better cutting techniques. The goal is to prepare students to work at a salon using their own chairs to serve clients.
What Makes Our Beauty School Different?
An education at the International School of Skin, Nailcare and Massage Therapy is unlike any other. We offer distinct benefits that students may not find at similar schools. Consider the following advantages you will reap by enrolling in our cosmetology program:
Our beauty school is in Sandy Springs, GA, at 5600 Roswell Road N.E., in the courtyard of Prado Shopping Center. It rests on the MARTA transit line, which provides service all day and evening, making it easy for students and customers to access our facilities.
The campus features approximately 17,000 square feet of instructional space, including a training clinic open to the public. We offer accommodations for students with disabilities, including a wheelchair ramp at the front entrance and restrooms with aids for those with physical impairments. Additionally, the ground level has double doors to facilitate easy access to the school for students and clients alike.
We boast of credentialed instructors and their expertise. Many of these teachers have international backgrounds, and some have ITEC training or serve as CIDESCO diplomats. Both organizations are recognized worldwide in the skincare and beauty therapy fields.
Diverse Student Body
As an international institution, we embrace our students’ various backgrounds and perspectives. Individuals from many states and countries enroll in our programs, adding to our growing diversity.
The student spa and salon provide a space for learners to gain clinical experience while serving actual clients. Licensed educators oversee students as they use their real-world training to conduct services for customers at school prices.
Numerous Work Opportunities
Once graduates pass the state board test, they can pursue careers in multiple industries, including spas and salons, resorts, cruise ships, medical settings, entertainment, and sales. They also may open their own beauty and wellness businesses and become self-employed.
To make a cosmetology education more accessible, we also lead qualifying students to financial aid opportunities. Our financial planning office is happy to guide students through various payment options, as well.
Study at an Accredited Cosmetology School
Another aspect that distinguishes the International School of Skin, Nailcare and Massage Therapy from other beauty and wellness institutes is our accreditations. Besides being approved and licensed by the Georgia Secretary of State Boards of Cosmetology and Barbers and Massage Therapy, we also hold the following accreditations:
- Commission of the Council on Occupational Education in Atlanta, GA: This organization works to promote high quality and honesty in technical instruction and education. The U.S. Department of Education recognizes this accreditation as a national distinction.
- Georgia Non-Public Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC): This government agency approves and controls the operations of private postsecondary academic institutions in the state.
- National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB): As an Assigned School, we have the qualifications necessary to allow graduates of the massage therapy program to complete the NCBTMB Board Certification Exam.
