About International School of Skin, Nail Care and Massage Therapy (ISSNMT)
The International School of Skin, Nail Care and Massage Therapy has been training students to become wellness and beauty professionals for 36 years. The School offered the first Nail Care classes in February, 1985 and was the first state approved School for Nail Care training in Georgia. In June, 1988, the Skin Care program was added. In 2008, the School added the Massage Therapy program to compliment the other programs and respond to a growing job market in the beauty and wellness industry.
The School is recognized internationally for quality training, knowledgeable and credential Educators. The School embraces international concepts and students. As an approved School for international enrollment, ISSNMT educates students from many countries. Additionally, students arrive from other parts of the United States to enroll in the programs. ISSNMT also boasts Educators with an international background. Some of the educators are C.I.D.E.S.C.O. Diplomats or trained with I.T.E.C. The CIDESCO diploma and I.T.E.C. are recognized internationally in the field of skin care and Beauty Therapy.
At the heart of the School’s history is the consistent and effective training for marketable skills in dynamic industries to an ever changing student population and employer needs. The School strives to be the leader in the beauty and wellness industry by offering progressive curriculum, the fully functional Spa for “real world” working experiences and a stellar instructional staff to every student at ISSNMT. ISSNMT is proud of the State Board pass rates of its graduates and we look forward to applauding their success for years to come.
ISSNMT trains individuals with a passion to work in the beauty and wellness industry. Graduates, who pass the State Board examination, are skilled professionals who can work in luxury spas, resorts, salons, physician’s offices, cruise ships and the entertainment industry. More opportunities exist with equipment and product companies as self-employment opportunities. From massage therapy to facials, medical skin care and manicures to nail art, all courses are taught at the renowned ISSNMT. Advanced classes are available to graduates and licensed professionals in the industry. The school’s objectives are to prepare students for these careers and to develop within them a sense of responsibility and loyalty to their clients, coworkers, employees or employers. ISSNMT is also an approved School to offer CE credits for licensed skin care and nail technicians making the School an excellent resource and continuing education center for professionals. Many ISSNMT graduates, as well as graduates from other Schools, attend the Instructor programs for Skin and Nail Care
Licensing and Approvals
The programs of International School of Skin, Nail Care and Massage Therapy are approved and licensed by Georgia Secretary of State Boards of Cosmetology and Massage Therapy. ISSNMT is also approved by Georgia Non-Public Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC). Other approvals include Veteran’s Training, Vocation Rehabilitation. The school is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education.
ISSNMT Spa Services
The School also has a clinic floor open to the public where we provide a Spa experience and a full array of services at School prices. Students are provided with the opportunity to experience real world industry experiences by providing services, as part of their training, in the Spa. All work is performed by students and is supervised by licensed educators. It has been stated, by clients and mystery shoppers, that the ISSNMT Spa is the “best kept secret in Atlanta.” Browse our Spa section to determine which service to try first and pick up the phone and make an appointment.
ISSNMT is located at 5600 Roswell Road (NE) on the Courtyard Level of the Prado Shopping Center in Sandy Springs, GA, one fourth mile inside of I-285 @ Roswell Road. Our facility includes about 17,000 square feet of training area including a Skin Care, Nail Care, and Massage Therapy clinic open to the general public. The School is conveniently located on the Marta transit line with service provided regularly throughout the day and evening for students and clients. The school is accessible to the handicapped person and covered, ample parking is available to students and clients. A wheel chair ramp is conveniently located at the front entrance of the school. Double doors on ground level permit easy access to the school for students and clients. Restrooms are also equipped for the physically impaired.
Upon successful completion of training, the student will receive a certificate from the School. Upon passing the exam for the Georgia State Boards, graduates will be issued a license that certifies them as a professional in skin care, Nail Technician (Nail Care), or Massage Therapy (Massage Therapist).
Financial Planning and Eligibilities
The School is authorized under Federal law to enroll eligible non-immigrant alien students, also authorized to enroll students as vocational rehabilitation participants, and/or social security beneficiaries. The school is approved for Veterans Benefits to eligible veterans. When you visit the school, the financial planning office can assist you with the payment options available to you.
